In churches all over the country this month, people will talk about the Advent season and they will light the candles on the Advent wreath. Have you ever wondered about the meaning behind it? The candles are not meant to simply serve as decoration or to illuminate the church - they are meant to symbolize the coming of Christ. The Methodist tradition uses the candles to represent the virtues of the coming Messiah - Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. The wreath is a circle that represents the eternity of God. In the center of the wreath is the Christ candle, reminding Christians that Jesus is the Light of the World.
We invite you to join us this Advent season at TTUMC!!
