Food Pantry

We partner with the West Florida Foster Care Services Food Pantry housed on the TTUMC campus. The pantry serves foster families as well as the community at large.

With the help of Feeding Tampa Bay, local grocery stores & markets, and other food pantries, this ministry is a true team effort to address hunger in our immediate community. 


We are currently in the recruiting volunteers phase of the project and hope to open in early November.


Pantry will be Open on Wednesdays 10a-2p, 6-7:30p

And on the fourth Saturday of each month 9a-noon


Below are the job descriptions for each volunteer role. Review the roles and click for a volunteer form where you can submit your availability and desired roles.

Food Pantry volunteer Job Descriptions

Food transporter

  • Responsible for driving to the Feeding Tampa Bay pick up location with a refrigeration blanket (located in the food pantry). Tuesdays mid-morning to noon
  • Upon arrival, Feeding Tampa Bay will load items into the driver's vehicle. 
  • Document departure time & perishable food temperature. 
  • Drive to TTUMC campus for drop off. 
  • Document arrival time & perishable food temperature. 
  • Coordinate campus arrival time with Unloader/Stocker.

On Call Food Transporter

  • Willing to pick up from grocery stores and other food pantries as needed.
  • Usually M-F during business hours

Unloader/Stocker

  • Responsible for meeting Pick Up Transporter at TTUMC campus on time to ensure safety protocol is within Feeding Tampa Bay requirements. 
  • Prioritize unloading refrigerated items. 
  • Neatly organize shelving of items using: “first in first out” method.
  • Non-food items placed in Building 100 Foster Storage Room

WEDNESDAY DAYTIME Attendant

  • Responsible for assisting foster family pick up hours: Wednesdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. 
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to open the pantry and prepare the sign in sheet. 
  • Responsible for checking expiration dates.  Dispose of expired items.
  • Assist families with locating needed items.
  • Note items that are low in stock. 
  • Lock pantry and drop off sign in sheet to Foster Closet. 
  • Make certain freezer is locked and refrigerator is securely closed.


2ND SATURDAY ATTENDANT

  • Responsible for assisting foster family pick up hours: 2nd Saturday each month 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. 
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to open the pantry and prepare the sign in sheet. 
  • Responsible for checking expiration dates.  Dispose of expired items.
  • Assist families with locating needed items.
  • Note items that are low in stock. 
  • Lock pantry and drop off sign in sheet to Foster Closet. 
  • Make certain freezer is locked and refrigerator is securely closed.

Stock Auditor (Sundays)

  • Responsible for checking expiration dates.  
  • Check produce.
  • Dispose of expired items.

Wednesday Evening Attendant

  • Responsible for assisting families and individuals with locating needed items Wednesday 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
  • Must arrive 15 minutes early to open the pantry and prepare the sign in sheet. 
  • Note items that are low in stock.
  • Lock pantry and drop off sign in sheet to Foster Closet. 
  • Make certain freezer is locked and refrigerator is securely closed.

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Responsible for scheduling volunteers for all positions using Planning Center Teams. 
  • Arranging coverage if a volunteer cannot make their shift. 
  • Complete reports for WFFCS as needed to fulfill Feeding Tampa Bay requirements.
